Our School
High Halden Church of England Primary School is a small, friendly village school nestled in the beautiful Kent countryside. We are a popular and often oversubscribed school, known for our warm, inclusive ethos and strong sense of community. Children, staff, and families work closely together in an environment where every individual is valued and supported to flourish.
We have around 105 children on roll, taught across four mixed-age classes. Our small size creates a true family feel, where each child is known and nurtured. Our dedicated team works hard to provide an education that balances academic excellence with creativity, character development, and Christian values.
Our school blends the charm of a traditional Victorian building with the benefits of modern facilities. The original part of the school houses the office, staff room, EYFS and Key Stage 1 classrooms. In 2008, two spacious new classrooms and a large hall were added, now home to our Key Stage 2 pupils and used for worship, performances, and wider school events.
A real standout feature of High Halden is our spectacular and vast outdoor environment. We are incredibly fortunate to have two playgrounds, a large playing field, and extensive gardens, including a wildlife area, pond, reflection garden, and school allotment. We also have a dedicated outdoor classroom, where children can enjoy hands-on, nature-rich learning experiences that support both their academic and emotional development.
To support our families, we also offer wraparound care, providing a safe and welcoming environment before and after school. This is just one of the many ways we work in partnership with parents to ensure that school life is supportive, flexible, and accessible for all.
High Halden is part of the Flourish Together Federation, alongside Woodchurch Church of England Primary School. Together, we share resources, expertise, and a shared vision, while maintaining the unique identity and strengths of each school.
Everything we do at High Halden is rooted in our Christian values of generosity, respect, love, wisdom, trust, and hope. These values underpin our teaching, our relationships, and our vision for every child to live life in all its fullness.
