Our Community
At High Halden, community isn’t a side project—it’s who we are. We believe children thrive when school, families, and local partners learn and celebrate together. By being active in our neighbourhood and placing relationships at the heart of everything we do, we create a safe, joyful place where every child can belong and flourish. Truly, it takes a village to raise a child.
We aim to be a school that:
-
Is active in the community—taking part, showing up, and offering our hall, voices and hands.
-
Sits at the heart of the community—a welcoming space where people meet, learn and support one another.
-
Nurtures character—kindness, courage, service and responsibility.
-
Champions opportunity for all—so every pupil is known, included and stretched.
How We Engage With Our Local Community
We are proud to be active participants in the life of our village and beyond:
-
Multi-generational projects with residents at Halden Heights Nursing Home, sharing stories, arts, and music across generations.
-
Fundraising for local charities that support families, health, and wellbeing.
-
Village pride: taking part in the horticultural shows, festivals, and other village events.
-
Partnership with the Parish Council, working together on school projects that benefit everyone.
-
Enjoying our wonderful village and its spectacular features, from nature walks to historical landmarks.
-
Spending time in the beautiful church across the road, where children learn, reflect, and celebrate together.
These experiences connect pupils to their roots, broaden their horizons, and strengthen the bonds between school and community. Local volunteers also play an important role, generously giving their time and expertise to support the learning and progress of our pupils.
