School Closures
At High Halden Primary, we aim to stay open wherever possible to ensure your child can continue learning and parents are supported. However, in the event of adverse weather conditions, safety is our top priority.
๐ข Daily Updates
Our school website will be updated daily during periods of severe weather.
๐ซ Keeping School Open
We will always strive to keep school open as long as it is safe to do so. During the winter months, we prepare in advance to:
-
Keep the site safe and accessible
-
Communicate promptly with parents and carers about any disruption

โ If School Remains Open
Please follow these guidelines to help us manage the day smoothly:
๐ฅช Packed Lunch
Please be prepared to send your child with a packed lunch in case meals can't be provided.
๐งค Winter Clothing
Ensure children come with warm clothing: gloves, hats, scarves, wellies and even a change of clothes if needed.
๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ฆ Emergency Collection Plan
If weather worsens during the day and you may struggle to collect your child early, arrange a backup adult who has your permission to pick up and notify the school office.
๐ Report Absence Due to Weather
Call the school office on 01233 850285 or email the school office if travel is unsafe and your child cannot attend.
๐ซ Your Safety Comes First
Please do not travel if conditions are unsafe. Your family's wellbeing is our greatest concern, and we fully understand if attendance is affected due to extreme weather.
