Hello and a big welcome to our Bumblebees class page! 🐾 We are so excited to begin this learning journey with our youngest learners in Reception. In Bumblebees, we believe that every child should feel safe, happy, and inspired to explore the world around them through play, discovery, and meaningful experiences.

Our nurturing team includes Mrs Smith and Mrs Dunn, supported by our fantastic Teaching Assistant, Miss Richards. Together, we create a warm, engaging environment where your child can thrive—developing confidence, creativity, and a love for learning from the very start.

In EYFS, we help children grow in all areas of development. The Prime Areas—communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development—are at the heart of everything we do. These lay the foundations for the Specific Areas—literacy, maths, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design—where children expand their knowledge, skills, and creativity. Together, they ensure a happy, balanced start to learning.

Our learning is child-led and shaped by the children’s own interests, while our overarching themes provide structure and direction, ensuring that every child’s experiences are rich, engaging, and carefully designed to prepare them for a smooth and confident transition into Year 1. Below, you can see the six themes we will be focusing on this year.
