Sports Premium
🏅 At High Halden Church of England Primary School, we believe in nurturing the whole child — body, mind, and spirit. 🌱 As part of our Christian ethos and school vision, we aim for all children to leave primary school physically literate, confident, and equipped with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to enjoy a lifelong love of sport and physical activity. ⚽🏃♀️🎾
🎯 What Is the Sports Premium?
The PE & Sports Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to help improve the quality of physical education, physical activity, and sport. The goal is to create self-sustaining, long-lasting impact that goes beyond the funding itself.
This means:
-
Raising the profile of PE and sport across the whole school 🏫
-
Increasing confidence, knowledge, and skills of all staff in teaching PE 🧑🏫
-
Expanding participation in a broader range of sports and activities 🏀🏓🏃♂️
-
Promoting active, healthy lifestyles 🌟
💪 Our Commitment
We use the Sports Premium to:
-
Deliver high-quality PE lessons across all year groups
-
Offer after-school sports clubs and competitive opportunities 🏆
-
Bring in qualified coaches to enhance children's learning
-
Improve and maintain equipment and resources for physical activity
-
Develop staff through specialist PE training
Through this, we ensure our pupils:
✔️ Gain confidence in their physical ability
✔️ Understand the importance of health and fitness
✔️ Embrace teamwork and sportsmanship
✔️ Access a wide range of inclusive sporting opportunities
