  • Curling Tournament

Fri 29 Jan 2016 Mr Heath

On Friday 29th January each school brought a team of year 2 and 3 children to Hawkhurst to take part in a Curling competition. During the morning each team had the opportunity to play each other twice with a game being played over 3 ends. At the half way stage John Mayne were well in the lead on 21 points. However in the reverse fixture both Hawkhurst and High Halden caught up rapidly without managing to overtake our eventual winners. John Mayne won with 28 points with High Halden a close 2nd and Hawkhurst on just behind in 3rd. Well done to the 12 children that took part.

  • Road Safety

Mon 18 Jan 2016 Mrs Burlton

The Children at High Halden Primary School, had a visit from two humorous chaps, who have called themselves, The Smart Brothers. There were plenty of jokes and audience participation-but with a serious message.

The Smart Brothers taught the children that before crossing the road you need to Stop, look, listen and think. As you cross you still need to be doing good looking, good listening and good thinking.

The children also learnt about safe places to cross the road and that you must make sure you can be seen so wear bright colours and reflective strips. Don’t forget if you are riding a bicycle you need to have lights, wear a helmet and be seen too.

The show was very entertaining and a highly memorable educational experience for all!
