Head Boy and Head Girl

The children in our school never fail to impress, amaze and inspire. Our Head Boy and Girl are brilliant examples of this.

Across the month of March Charlotte and Dougie  set themselves the challenge of each running and walking a marathon distance! However, they didn't stop at that... between the two of them, they covered over 100 miles and raised a over £1500!

Thank you to all who have generously sponsored them so far, as their charities are both local great causes, which can make a real difference in our community.

Here is Charlotte's Story...

Hello, I am Charlotte and during my year as Headgirl at High Halden Primary School I decided I would like to raise some money for charity. I have chosen Team Ben Hammond because I think it is an amazing charity. I find their work inspirational because their focus is on preventing other families going through the same heart breaking experience of losing a child to an undiagnosed heart condition. Ben Hammond used to go to my school and was a completely healthy teenager until he died in 2016. There were no signs to tell anyone he had a heart condition. The heart screening that Team Ben Hammond fundraises for is open to anyone between the ages of 14 and 35 years old. What I find so amazing is that Ben's family are doing all this work to raise awareness of what can happen and offer screening which is not available from the NHS.

I decided I would like to run the distance of a marathon over the month of March. I am going to run at least a mile every day to get me to my goal.

Here is Dougie's Story...

Hello! My name is Dougie. I have lived in High Halden all my life and this year I am proud to be Head Boy at High Halden C of E Primary School. During this year I wanted to support a local charity and have chosen to help raise funds for Acts 435.

Acts 435 helps to connect people who want to give with people who are in need. In High Halden, Acts 435 is supported by St. Mary's Church. It gives to people in the local community who may be in need of help in small but practical and potentially life changing ways.

I have set myself the challenge of walking the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) during the month of March. I will walk every day after school and at the weekends. You can see where and how far I have walked in the 'Update' section below.

Please help me to support Acts 435 and our local community by donating to my Marathon March! Thank you.
