Our Christian Values

As a Church school we have a distinctive character where Christian values are promoted in all aspects of school life.  We encourage all members of the school community to promote a Christian ethos where care and respect is shown to everyone.  As a Church school there are strong links with the Parish Church of St Mary's.  Members of the church community are timetabled to lead worship several times over a half term using Open the Book techniques.  Other members of the church visit regularly to support the school and the learning of the children.

Our Christian Values are at the centre of everything we do at High Halden Church of England Primary School. Each term we focus on a different Christian Value. This is done explicitly through our Collective Worship time and also throughout our curriculum. Children have regular opportunities to reflect on each value and to develop an understanding of the Value in action. Each Friday, in our Celebration Worship, we acknowledge children who have demonstrated these values.

These values inform the shape and form of all our interactions at school. Our aim is that they permeate all areas of school life from our behaviour to our learning, from celebrating our achievements to dealing with our difficulties.

Our Christian values are not just for the children. They are woven through the school community, with adults and children alike living out our vision.

Our Christian Values are:

Generosity
Respect

Wisdom
Trust
Hope
