Remote Learning Provision

Introduction

At High Halden CEP School, we are committed to providing high-quality remote education to ensure all pupils can continue learning effectively when they are unable to attend school. As a Google School, we utilize Google Classroom for lesson delivery and assignments. Additionally, we use Class Dojo portfolios to support communication and showcase pupil progress.

Remote Learning Approach

Our approach to remote learning is designed to be flexible, acknowledging that families have different schedules and work commitments. Therefore, all online lessons will be recorded by class teachers rather than delivered live, allowing children to access learning at a time that suits them.

Platforms Used

  • Google Classroom – Primary platform for lesson delivery, assignments, feedback, and communication.

  • Class Dojo – Used for sharing achievements, portfolio work, and maintaining engagement with families.

  • Google Drive – Repository for additional learning materials, worksheets, and recorded lessons.

  • Google Meet (if required) – For small group support or one-to-one teacher check-ins.

Daily Structure

  • Each day, recorded lessons will be uploaded to Google Classroom by 9:00 AM.

  • Lessons will include a mix of videos, presentations, and tasks for English, Maths, and Foundation subjects.

  • Clear instructions will be provided for each task, with opportunities for independent learning and parental support.

  • Pupils will be encouraged to submit completed work via Google Classroom or Class Dojo portfolios.

Feedback and Assessment

  • Teachers will review submitted work and provide feedback via Google Classroom comments or private messages.

  • Weekly check-ins via Google Meet or Class Dojo messages will be available for pupils requiring additional support.

  • Class Dojo portfolios will be monitored to celebrate pupil achievements and engagement.

  • Formative assessments such as quizzes and self-marking Google Forms will be used to track progress.

Parental Support

  • Guidance on using Google Classroom and Class Dojo will be shared with parents through video tutorials and written instructions.

  • Weekly newsletters or announcements will provide updates on remote learning expectations.

  • Parents can contact teachers via Class Dojo or email for support and clarification.

Support for Pupils with Additional Needs

  • Differentiated tasks and resources will be provided to support SEND pupils.

  • One-to-one virtual support will be arranged as needed.

  • Additional learning resources such as visual aids, sentence starters, and scaffolding will be uploaded to support learners.

Expectations for Pupils

  • Engage with recorded lessons and complete set tasks daily.

  • Submit work on time through Google Classroom or Class Dojo.

  • Communicate with teachers if additional support is needed.

Safeguarding and Online Safety

  • Pupils and parents will be reminded of online safety guidelines.

  • Recorded lessons will be stored securely and accessible only to intended pupils.

  • Teachers will monitor pupil engagement and report concerns in line with school safeguarding policies.

Review and Evaluation

This plan will be reviewed regularly based on feedback from staff, pupils, and parents to ensure it remains effective and supportive of all learners.
