Wraparound Care
Brand new for September 2024!
As you will see, to compliment the enrichment clubs, we will be introducing our ‘Stay and Play’ option. During this club, the staff will provide a range of activities such as drawing, crafts, gardening, lego, construction, computing, reading, outdoor play and board games. Bringing all of our usual clubs together under one roof! Many of the children who attend after school clubs currently, just enjoy the chance to socialise with their friends whilst engaging with some low challenge activities.
From September onwards:
Timings of clubs
All club options (Enrichment and Stay and Play) will start at 3:15pm. The enrichment clubs will finish at 4:15pm. Stay and Play will have two different collection times, either 4:15pm or 5:15pm.
Dates of Clubs
We will be running clubs from the first day back in September right up until the last day of term. This will be the same each term, clubs will run every week of each term.
Venues
Enrichment clubs will take place either in the school hall or outdoors. Stay and Play will take place in the mobile building located to the side of the school (near EYFS playground).
Activities at Stay and Play
We have invested in a whole range of new furniture and resources for Stay and Play as we want it to have a homely feel where the children can explore, create and have fun. When the children arrive at Stay and Play, they will be offered a piece of fresh fruit. Each day there will be a range of activities and resources that the children can engage with. These will include: gardening, arts and craft, board games, construction toys, reading, comics, computing, Lego and outdoor play. Hopefully this option will give more children the option to access these activities. Children who are staying until 5:15pm will also be given a further snack at 4:15pm, these snacks will vary from yogurt, crackers, cheese, breadsticks, cereal bars, fruit or crumpets.
Collection from Clubs
For both Enrichment and Stay and Play clubs we are asking all parents to collect from the side entrance of the school, where the mobile building is located. There is a pathway that can be accessed via the small front gate. A member of staff will be able to ensure that every child is collected safely. Please note, this is not the entrance that the children use in the morning. To ensure the smooth running of the clubs and handover of children it is important that you aren't late when picking up, arriving promptly for your booked collection time.
Costs
We have researched the price that other local schools charge for after school care and they far exceed our charges, many schools charge between £10 and £15 so we feel that our offer is really competitive. As detailed in our previous letter, all clubs (with the exception of drama) will cost £3 per session (3:15pm-4:15pm or 4:15pm-5:15pm). If your child is attending clubs between 3:15pm-5:15pm, the cost will be £6 per day. Drama club will cost approximately £6 per week, this should be made payable directly to Mr Mike Dyer-Ball, he will share his payment details with you upon booking in with him.
Although we are asking you to book clubs in advance, e.g for term 1 and 2, we are only asking you to pay for term 1 in advance. Payment for term 2 will be due in October, allowing parents to spread the cost. However, you can pay in full if you’d rather.
Tax-Free Childcare
In order to support families, we have registered the Stay and Play club so that you can use the tax-free childcare scheme to help with the cost. Please note, this scheme can only be used for the cost of Stay and Play, it can not be used for the Enrichment clubs as these are run by outside providers. With the tax-free childcare, you can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. If you are able to register for tax-free childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay for Stay and Play.

Capacity of Pupils
To ensure we are working within staff ratios all clubs will have a maximum capacity of 20 children. Meaning 20 children can attend the Enrichment Club and 20 children can attend Stay and Play each day.
