  • EU Referendum!

Sat 25 Jun 2016 Mrs White

To help support our work on British values and develop the children's understanding of democracy we held our own EU Referendum.

The children in Years 5 and 6 wrote persuasive pieces either for or against staying in the EU.

Two representatives from each side were chosen and they then pitched their views to the rest of the school. The children then all had the opportunity to vote.

And the results were...... to remain in the EU.

  • Soulful Singers

Wed 15 Jun 2016 Mrs Winter

On Tuesday 14th June our choir did us all proud at the annual Lion’s School Choir Competition. We had one of the smallest choirs with the youngest performers but they all sang their hearts out.

Mrs Laws was very impressed with how the children kept in time and sang in tune in front of such a large audience and the judges  - it was quite a daunting task.

The behaviour of all of the children was impeccable as ever and they were excellent ambassadors for the school.

Well done to you all and Mrs Laws for all of your hard work and dedication.

  • World of Work Week

Tue 14 Jun 2016 Mrs Winter

Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to share their work experiences with the children this week. The children have absolutely loved meeting you all and finding out about what you do and how you became a dog trainer or nurse etc. The children’s feedback clearly shows that you have inspired them and make them think about their future career choices.

Thank you again for giving up your time to make our World of Work Week a success.

  • Powerful Paper Planes

Tue 14 Jun 2016 Mrs Winter

Well done to all of those children (and parents and grandparents) who completed the Half term homework.  We had a variety of planes in all sizes and colours.

On Friday the whole school gathered in the playground to launch their planes. The children competed in their houses (Beech, Elm and Maple).

The children competed for the best design, furthest distance and longest time in the air.

    The winners were:

    Best Design

    Nell, Aaron, Chanel

    Furthest distance

    Abigail, Kayeigh, Ruby O.

    Longest flight

    Sam wood, Aaron, Kieran

Congratulations to you all – keep up the designing; maybe we have some future engineers in our midst.

  • Diversity Day

Tue 14 Jun 2016 Mrs Winter

Thank you to everyone who attended our Diversity day on Monday. The children really enjoyed the three workshops that were on offer.

The day was an opportunity for the children to celebrate our school community and our similarities and differences, and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves.
